Willie Adler (born 1973) is the guitarist of the metal band Lamb of God, along with guitarist Mark Morton, bassist John Campbell, drummer Chris Adler, and singer Randy Blythe, formerly known as Burn the Priest. Willie joined the band when their former guitarist left, and shortly thereafter they changed their name to Lamb of God. He is brothers with their drummer, Chris Adler, which gave him the opportunity to try out and join the band. Chris said: "We were looking for a guitarist, and Willie used to come up and jam with us sometimes, so eventually the guys were like 'Hey, what about Willie?'" The rest, as the cliche goes, is history. Over three major label releases, 2000's New American Gospel, 2003's As the Palaces Burn, and 2004's Ashes of the Wake, he and his counterpart Mark Morton have carved themselves into metal history with their incredibly complex, yet straightforward brand of "pure American metal". Anyone who watches their DVD release Killadelphia will instantly see his insane talent for guitar. When asked about their bandmate, the guys in Lamb of God had this to say: Chris Adler - "I think that in the writing process, he and I are the closest in a musical sense. He'll bring in a riff, let's say to the practice space, and show it to me and by the end of the riff I'm playing right in time with what he's playing. We've got this special kind of connection on a musical level." Mark Morton - "He's just a natural metal player, you know? He just picked up a guitar and started playing things he heard, things in his head, and that makes for really really odd pieces. He'll bring something in which to him is like, 'well, it goes like this.' But you're like, I don't even get it, I don't know what time signature it's in, when does it repeat, when does it start over? It can be difficult to arrange and sculpt into a song, but as far as pure creativity goes it's some of the most original stuff I've heard anyone play."
