The Winnipeg Free Press is the primary daily newspaper of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Founded in 1872, it is the oldest newspaper in western Canada. Its weekly circulation is 128,000.
Its main competition is the Winnipeg Sun.
The Winnipeg Free Press is owned by the same holding company as the Brandon Sun.
On January 7, 2005, Nicholas Hirst, editor-in-chief of the Free Press, resigned. The current editor is Bob Cox.
