It broadcasts on 102.4 FM from the transmitter at Billinge Hill, between Billinge and Longshaw on the A571. The studios are in Orrell. It has been owned by The Wireless Group(now UTV Radio) since 1999, being owned before by the Independent Radio Group. It started broadcasting on 1 April 1997.
It does much collaboration with the rugby league team, Wigan Warriors and the Premiership football club Wigan Athletic.
