Wombwell

Wombwell is a small town in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. It has a railway station (formerly Wombwell West) serving the Penistone and Hallam Lines. Until 1966 it had an another station (Wombwell Central) on the Barnsley-Doncaster line that was closed when that line lost its passenger service. Wombwell was home to two collieries, Wombwell Main and Mitchells main.

Wombwell is known for its large number of pubs & clubs. It probably has the best collection in the whole of the Barnsley Borough.
