The World Association of Newspapers (WAN) is an International organization that groups 72 national newspaper associations, individual newspaper executives in 100 nations, 13 news agencies, and nine regional press organisations. It is a non-profit, non-government organisation.
Founded in 1948, the Association represents more than 18,000 publications on the five continents.
It also awards the prestigious Golden Pen of Freedom Award.
