World Wrestling All-Stars

Encyclopedia : W : WO : WOR : World Wrestling All-Stars

The World Wrestling All-Stars (WWA) was one of the professional wrestling promotions to come into existence after the fall of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). They focused on signing the wrestlers that did not get signed by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) after the WWE/WCW merger, and many popular former WWE names signed wrestlers included Jeff Jarrett, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Eddie Guerrero, Lenny Lane, Lodi, Psychosis, Scott Steiner, and the tag-team Kronik (Brian Adams and Bryan Clark). They also brought in relatively unknown wrestlers such as Shark Boy, Nathan Jones, and Trinity.

A few months went by, with little success. Eventually, Scott Steiner and Nathan Jones were signed by the WWE for a short stint. Many of the other wrestlers, such as Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Shark Boy and The Road Dogg are now employed by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Sting was their last champion. He lost the title in a unification match with National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) World Champion Jeff Jarrett on May 25, 2003.

Andrew McManus

Andrew McManus was the owner and promoter of the short lived World Wrestling All-Stars. McManus appeared on air a few times to make some announcements, but mainly ran things from behind the scenes. Jeremy Borash did most of the on-screen booking instead. McManus did not really have a lot of experience as a wrestling promoter. The WWA eventually ceased running tours. McManus was also one of the founders of World Series Wrestling but it is unknown if he has any runnings within the promotion at the moment.
