World citizen

World citizen is a term with a variety of meanings, often referring to a person who disapproves of traditional geopolitical divisions derived from national citizenship.

- The United Nations issues an award called Citizen of the World.
- It may refer to the "World Passports" issued by the World Service Authority.
- It may be used by activists promoting an integrated, supranational World government.
- It may sometimes refer to persons promoting Internationalism (politics), predicated on the closer cooperation of sovereign states.
- The Bahá'í Faith promotes a concept of international unity akin to world citizenship.
