Xype

XYPE is a group of programmers who write brand new homebrew video games for the Atari 2600 video game system and a few other vintage consoles. The collective was formed by homebrew programmer, Manuel Rotschkar, to function as a kind of seal of quality for 2600 homebrews like the Nintendo Seal of Quality. Titles that carry the XYPE label are Climber 5, Gunfight, Jammed, Kill the Attacking Aliens (Odyssey 2), Marble Craze, Oystron, Qb, Space Instigators, Space Invaders Collection Pack (Colecovision), Star Fire, and Thrust. Music for most XYPE games is programmed by Paul Slocum. Although many of the XYPE programmers still produce homebrew Atari 2600 games, XYPE is no longer active.

The name is a reverse of Epyx, a popular video game company from the 8-bit era.
