- This article is about the city in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Although their Japanese language names are different there are also a prefecture and another city with this same English name, see Yamagata Prefecture (山形県) and Yamagata, Yamagata (山形市).
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 30,659 and the density of 138.08 persons per km². The total area is 222.04 km².
History
The city was established on April 1, 2003, by merger of Takatomi, Ijira, and Miyama.
