Yasu, Shiga

Yasu (野洲市; -shi) is a city located in Shiga, Japan. The city was formed on October 1, 2004 by the merging of the towns of Yasu and Chizu; in doing so, the former Yasu District was dissolved.
As of 2003, the district that became the city had an estimated population of 36,963 and a density of 912.44 persons per km². The total area is 40.51 km².
