Yokosuka Line

The is a rail line of JR East.
The line is 73.3 km long from Tokyo Station to Kurihama Station, is of 1,067 mm gauge and is double-tracked between Tokyo and Yokosuka. It runs underground from Tokyo to Shinagawa (parallel to the Tokaido Main Line and Keihin-Tohoku Line), then branches to the west following the Tokaido Shinkansen into the city of Kawasaki. It rejoins the Tokaido Main Line corridor near Tsurumi Station and follows the Tokaido Main Line to Ofuna, where it branches off to the southeast toward stops on the Miura Peninsula.
Trains
- Local trains make all stops along the Yokosuka Line. Most are 11-car trains with two first class "Green Cars."
- Shonan-Shinjuku Line trains use the Yokosuka Line between Nishi-oi and Zushi, making all stops.
- Ohayo Liner and Home Liner commuter express trains stop at Tokyo, Shimbashi, Shinagawa, Ofuna, Kamakura and Zushi.
- Narita Express trains stop at Tokyo, Shinagawa, Yokohama, and Ofuna.
Northbound trains frequently continue from Tokyo Station as
Sōbu Line Rapid trains to
Chiba Station or
Narita Airport.
Stations
Travelers who plan to connect to other lines should note that the Yokosuka Line does not pass through Kawasaki Station.
