Yokota Takatoshi

(d.1550), not originally a retainer under the likes of Takeda Shingen, but Shingen was impressed of his great skill with the bow, and his notable bravery. He was then counted among Shingen's 24 elite generals.

Takatoshi died when fighting against the Murakami clan, at the Toishi castle in the year of 1550. Shingen was struck when hearing of Takatoshi's death, even advising his younger retainers to follow Takatoshi's example. Takatoshi was succeeded by Yokota Yasukage, who was the son of Hara Toratane.
