Encyclopedia : Y : YO : YOO : Yoo Seung Jun
Yoo Seung Jun (English name: Steve Yoo) was one of the biggest Korean stars of the 1990s. He lived in the United States before making his mark on the Korean music industry, attending high school in California. He then moved back to Korea to pursue a music career. By the end of the decade, he was one of the most popular artists, selling well over 2 million copies of his albums. He even managed to release a live album that sold well. However, he was kicked out of South Korea when he refused to join the military, which every young male in Korea must do. Thus, he is banned from Korea. Yoo was allowed back into Korea for a funeral, but his travels were closely monitored. He reportedly lives in the Korean majority part of Fullerton, California, close to the Sunny Hills High school area. Seung Jun is engaged to Christine Oh (Oh Yoo Sun). He is close friends with a famous Korean singer, Kim Jong Guk.
