Yotam Halperin (Hebrew: יוֹתָם הַלְפֶּרִין) is an Israeli basketball player. He was born on the 24th of January, 1984 in Tel Aviv.

Yotam grew up in Tel Aviv and was the basketball star of Metrowest Highschool in Ra'anana. He declared himself eligible for the 2006 NBA Draft, and although he was projected to be selected late in the first round or early in the second, the Seattle SuperSonics selected him in the second round, with the 53rd overall pick. Halperin is listed at 6'5" weighing in at 200lbs. according to ESPN.com

Career

Yotam Halperin played in the Maccabi Tel Aviv juniors since he was 8 years old. After finishing high school Yotam Halperin left the juniors and went to play with the "big boys". Yotam had a tough time fitting in since Maccabi Tel Aviv had so many stars like Ariel McDonald and Anthony Parker.

Yotam Halperin set on the bench for the Maccabi Tel Aviv team until 2005. Yotam Halperin got an offer from KK Union Olimpija and today he is the team's star. Yotam Halperin won the Slovenian three-point competition and he is putting up big numbers for Ljubljana both in the Slovenian league and in the Euroleague.

He won the Slovenian National Cup and the Slovenian championship with KK Union Olimpia after completeing the final series in the Slovenian playoffs (3-2 in the fina to KK Union Olimpia).

In 2006, he was the 23rd pick of the second round in the NBA draft
