- expulsion of Gary McRobb and Eric Fairclough from the NDP caucus on 28 February/1 March.
- McRobb joins Liberal Party on Mar 16/06
- Fairclough joins LIberal Party on May 1/06; Liberal party becomes official opposition while NDP recedes to third party status
