Zachary "Zack" Taylor is a fictional character in the Power Rangers universe, appearing in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was played by Walter Emmanuel Jones. Character history Zack is the original Black Ranger and second-in-command of the first generation. He, along with Billy Cranston, Kimberly Hart, Jason Lee Scott, and Trini Kwan were picked as the five original Power Rangers by Zordon. He gained the Mastodon Power Coin and the Mastodon Dinozord. Quick witted and clever, Zack relies on speed and cunning to win his battles. The former Black Power Ranger was the jokester of team, loving dancing, magic, and girls, especially Kayla. He cares for his friends and always tried to cheer them up when they're feeling down, his best friend, Bobby in particular. A good friend with a good heart, Zack always loved a good joke. Zack likes to be taught and teach Martial Arts. His technique of teaching martial arts is a little unique because his students dance while being taught self-defense (much like Capoeira, but under a different rhythm), he calls this teaching course "Hip Hop Kido." Eventually, the character of Zack Taylor was written out of the television program, because Jones wanted more money. Zack left the team along with Jason and Trini to attend a peace summit. Trivia Loves cookies and cream flavored Ice Cream. According to the MMPR Interactive CD-ROM, Zack's birthday was March 7th. Making him Pisces In the episode "For Whom the Bell Trolls", Zack gave a surfing demonstration with a surfboard on Miss Appleby's desk for Hobby Week, suggesting that he was an avid surfer. Zack's costume for the masquerade party in the episode "Life's a Masquerade" was King Tut. According to two different episodes, we find out that Zack is both arachnophobic (has the fear of spiders) and ophidiophobic (has the fear of snakes). Zack is missing part of a finger.
