Zarautz

Zarautz (the official and Basque spelling) is a tourist city located in the center of the coast of the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country. In the 2005 (INE) it had 22,056 inhabitants but at the summer time it reaches the 60.000 frequently. The Palace of Narros, located in front of the great beach (2.8 km), was place of summering of queen Isabella II. The beach of Zarautz is most extensive of Basque Country and one of longest of the Cantabrian cornice. The zone next to the marine stroll emphasizes by the presence of palacetes and houses constructed by the high bourgeoisie during century XIX Year after year, is increased the built land and therefore the population.
